    d-CON No View Mouse Traps

d-CON No View Mouse Traps Review

I drove into my garage one evening and shut the door. I stayed in the car to finish typing up an email on my PDA, and that's when I heard some rustling noise. To make a long story short, it was a mouse. I either brought him home on my car or he just had ran in when I opened the garage. I chased him around a bit, he even ran into the engine compartment at one point. I then decided to use these traps which I picked up earlier on special.

I loaded it with peanut butter and put it where the mouse was last seen. 20 mins later it had sprung. One bad part was that it was hard to tell if the mouse was in it, because my mouse was very small and light. I had to compare the weight to the un-sprung trap.. I then put the trap in a zip lock bag and disposed of it.

But it does work.. I would say that the spring mechanism seems light and I was concerned that it wasn't enough force, but it is hard to tell because the trap spins when it is triggered..

Would I use these again? Yes, if you have a small/slight mouse problem. I would also get different types, since different mice might be inclined to enter one type of trap and not another.

Also, as far as reusability, well, this trap is not reusable, and if you want that type of trap, thats up to you. I personally think after a mouse dies in any trap, the other mice might smell "death" on the trap if you reuse it (Unless you're johnny on the spot and clear the trap right away)..

    Terro 2500 Fruit Fly Trap

Terro 2500 Fruit Fly Trap Review

I set this on my kitchen counter this morning, and tonight there are around 75 gnats and/or tiny fruit flies floating in the liquid inside this thing, and just a few hanging around my fruit. Makes it seem like I live in a filthy home, but actually it's very clean and sanitary. We just live at the beach, and leave our windows open, and do leave a basket of fruit on our counter.

I'll also give this product kudos for looking pleasant enough sitting on the counter, yet giving you a clear window that you can look into to check how many flies you've caught. And it's non-toxic (basically scented soap inside.)

The only downside is that you can't really empty and re-use the thing, and at this rate I'll be going through quite a few. After all, how long do you want to leave a swamp of dead floating fruit flies on your counter? So it can get expensive.

    Highly recommended!

Sagebrush Co. Model E2 Fly Trap

Sagebrush Co. Model E2 Fly Trap Review

Sagebrush Co. Model E2 Fly Trap Feature

    • All metal modified cone style fly trap.
    • Includes Exclusion Screen that prevents flies from breeding in the bait.
    • Fits on top of 12 inch diameter (five gallon) bucket.
    • Bait and bucket are not included.
    • This trap is not recomended for use around unsupervised children.

Sagebrush Co. Model E2 Fly Trap Overview

Model E2 is a 13 inch diameter x 13 inch high all metal cone style fly trap that includes an Exclusion Screen that prevents the flies from breeding in the bait. Materials of construction include aluminum screen, zinc plated steel, and a stainless steel hose clamp that attaches the top. Model E2 fits on top of a 12 inch diameter (five gallon) bucket. The principle of operation is that flies head towards an odorous bait and then pass through a cone while traveling towards the light. Once in the screened containment the flies are unable to escape and die of dehydration. Safety Information:Flies and Yellow Jackets (meat bees) will hover around the trap before being caught so do not place the trap where this could cause a hazard. Do not place the trap where children will play with the trap, fall on the trap, or be stung by yellow jackets and biting flies. Directions:Place the trap over an odorous bait with a light source above the trap, preferably open sky. Place bait in a dish or five gallon bucket. Some effective baits include: fish, shellfish, manure, food processing waste, and commercial baits. Bait should be kept moist for maximum effectiveness. Catching flies in the presence of livestock will usually require commercial baits. Six ounces of Farnam brand Fly Attractant mixed with five gallons of water (in a bucket) works well around horses in hot dry climates. Still attractive but filled up disposable fly traps can also be placed in a bucket and used to catch more flies. Meat, manure, and sometimes even commercial baits can result in the production of maggots. Because Model E2 includes an Exclusion Screen that prevents flies from breeding in the bait, Model E2 is recommended when baiting with fish or dog manure. Model E2 is also recommended for some horse ranches and where ever breeding in the bait is an issue.
